  • My gut feeling is no.

  • Nope

  • Don't think he ever makes it in.

  • Why not? Eddie has more rushing and receiving yards than Earl Campbell( Eddie 9 seasons, Earl 8). I'm not saying he was the runner Earl was but his numbers are on par with Campbell's. I say yes.

  • I hope so, but then again I want Mcnair in the HoF too.

    Go Blue and Go Titans!

    CorchBlue

  • His yards per carry weren't all that great. I think Frank Wycheck should get in but newly inflated te numbers might hurt him. Steve should get in on heart and courage to go along with his 30000 plus passing yards and 3000 rushing.

    sgtfoley

  • I think Eddie's numbers are borderline. The problem is he played with so many other backs who put up similar or better numbers like Curtis Martin and Fred Taylor. That's why he probably will come up a little short.

TitanInsider: Any closer and you'd be in the huddle.

    TerryMc13

  • He's going to come up short.

    titan4life

  • Eddie said on 104.5 today that if he was selected one of the following would present him.

His son Jaire (now 14), Coach Fisher or his old position coach Sherman Smith.

    Dan Cotton

  • I'd love for Eddie to make it, but I don't think he will. There are a lot of RBs with comparable stats that will probably get in over him. One thing he has over most of the other guys out there is his leadership. We need someone like him to help pull the team back together.

  • I realize he's probably going to be a yard short on getting in the HALL but think about the fact Eddie never played on a passing team. Every defense he played against knew EXACTLY what the Oilers/Titans were going to do on offense. They were going to pound George down your throat! We are in the QB era, and he played in an era where teams felt they could win with running the football and playing nasty defense. Don't forget Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson won SB's while he played. His body took a pounding and he NEVER missed a game! I would Vote him in.

I agree 100%. You look at his SB performance alone and you know he was a special RB. He single-handedly pulled us back into that game. He was the type of player that would carry his team to the finish line if he had to. He just never gave up. I'd love to see him get into the hall.

You make a good argument, Darren.

And let's not forget the run in the playoffs in Indy that broke the backs of the Colts!

I'll always remember the game in the heavy snow, in Cleveland, where he single-handedly beat the Browns on that day because NOBODY could pass the ball in the blizzard.
Or the game against the Raiders in Memphis where he ran for over 200 yards, and did it again to them years later at then Adelphia Coliseum. The Raiders defense was his friend.
Or who will EVER forget the dislocated shoulder in the first half against the Ravens, in the playoffs up there, and Eddie coming back in the second half and hitting Ray Lewis head on!!
