Re-sign Chris for 3 years, re-sign Hall and get a big RB in the draft or free agency. Chris needs some help but we may think about trading him in 3 years when he still has some value.

The problem is, CJ won't sign a 3 year deal. He'll want 6 years if he does a deal this summer.

You're right but what about a 6 year with 3 guaranteed?
There are no guaranteed contracts in the NFL. CJ would want at least 30 million in guaranteed money, so if you prorate that over six years, then you get a five million dollar penalty for each year left on his contract when you cut him. So, if he signed a six year deal with 30 million guaranteed and we cut him after three years, then five million would count against the cap for each of the next three years. Besides that, there are other bonuses and incentives that could be part of the deal to make it easier/tougher for the Titans to cut CJ halfway through his contract.
I'm not sure what the Titans will do. It's risky business giving a running back a six year deal, no matter how good he is today.
