Am I correct in understanding that in the new CBA, Chris Johnson must report 30 days prior to the first game of the regular season in order to accrue a full year toward free agency? Not to mention a hefty fine if not reported by that date. If that is correct, Chris must report around August 11. Could this be what Mike Reinfeldt is banking on?
Guys like Johnson really don't have much leverage with the new CBA. That was one thing the owners did in their favor. I think the Titans should be nice enough to offer CJ a new contract but it doesn't have to be huge (as in double figures per year). CJ is in a spot where he would be stupid to not accept about anything with decent bonus money up front.
