Vikings coach Leslie Frazier told PFT Live last week that, if the team signs a veteran quarterback once free agency begins, the goal won't be to acquire a mentor/understudy for Christian Ponder, but to bring in someone who will compete for the job. According to Steve Wyche of NFL.

Still think the Dolphins are the favorite to land VY if they want him.

This could still be a smokescreen to keep other teams from giving up a little something for him to jump ahead of the other teams. Or they could just seriously not want him...

I still think the best place for him is philly. It allows them to ship kolb and get a guy with game experience and maybe vick can get some since into this lazy underachieving qb and if not cut him loose and you didn't really give anything up. If he catches on and develops you've got either the next qb in philly or more trade bait.

Said this in another thread. If VY thought everyone was out to get him and couldn't handle the pressure in Nashville, he'll last about 4 seconds in Philly. That would be the worst city in the league for him.

Haha, nice one! I'm guessing he'll get another shot in the NFL, at least as a backup. I don't see him making the most of that opportunity, however. VY doesn't strike as a "love for the game" type that will try to hang on at all costs, including playing in the UFL/CFL.
