Roster Debate: Offensive Line

  • Linemen on the Roster
    Centers: (All centers capable of playing guard)
    Eugene Amano
    Kevin Matthews
    Fernando Velasco

    Guards:
    Leroy Harris (Can play center)
    Jake Scott
    Ryan Durand

    Tackles
    Michael Roos
    David Stewart
    Mike Otto
    Nick Howell
    Nevin McCaskill
    Michael Toudouze
    Troy Kropog

    There are 13 offensive lineman and at most the Titans will keep 9, but its more likely to keep 8. So who gets the axe here?

    Here are my eight. The five starters with Amano, Harris, Scott, Roos and Stewart. My three backups are Otto, Kropog and Velasco with Durand and Matthews on practice squad.

    I have heard some rumblings that Kropog could get cut, which might open up a spot for Durand or Matthews (or maybe even Toudouze) on the 53. Still, I'd be surprised to see them give up on a fourth-round pick from last year so quickly.

    Good catch Terry. I completely agree with you, but I'm not sure Matthews makes the practice squad. Have you seen anything out of him that shows that he has potential?

    Actually, yes. He seems to hold up OK for an undrafted rookie, plus he's a long snapper as well. Maybe down the road. I think he makes the practice squad. Remember this is the same team that kept Jarrett Payton around for 2-3 years.
