Ruston Webster's statement on Hasselbeck's release

"I want to thank Matt for his contributions to our team over the last two years,” said Titans General Manager Ruston Webster. “He was an important part of the transition process - he was a pro at every turn and he provided an example to the rest of the team. I know that we are a better team for his being here and we wish him the best.”

Cutting him outright saves the Titans 5.5 mil in cap space. If Washington is cut outright, they would save another 4.5 mil in space.......I believe.

As of right now they still need to sign at least another 12 players to fill the roster out. (assuming no more are cut) 9 of the 12 could possibly be the draft picks. So they can't spend all their $$ in one or two places.
