Texans standout defender could be headed to free agency in March, barring a contract extension or use of the franchise tag.
TitanInsider: Any closer and you'd be in the huddle.
They should at least make a push for him. If they don't get him hopefully they drive up the cost of the team that does get him.
If not Mario then they should either sign Jones or try and find somebody else who might better fit what our defense is doing.
I do not believe that we should draft a defensive linemen high in this draft. We have used enormous draft capital on the D-line the last few years and we need to draft in other areas for a change.
I like the idea of going after Mario. Any clue as to how much he would be looking to get salary wise?
Mario Williams will command at least $11-12M average per year. He'd be worth it though based on the fact that he's going to be 27 and this is only his second contract. If the Titans had drafted a 4-3 guy with his ability they'd be lining up to pay him around that much anyways.
Great info there, very insightful article. Given the Titans track record, I highly doubt they even seriously go after him, given what they know his price tag will be. On a side note Williams was drafted in 2006.
Got to have him in a Titan jersey in 2012 BUD GET IT DONE!!! He is for the taking and he is a perfect fit in our scheme!!! YES!!! YES!!!! YES!!!!
