Should the Titans have interest in Houshmandzadeh?

Houshmandzadeh to the Titans, Houshmandzadeh in Nashville

  • Should they? Yes. With Britt's head in other places it may be what Fisher needs to let every receiver know that if you don't show up you can be easily replaced.

Will they? No. The Titans have not been known to go out and grab the big time free agent or trade for that big name player. Why start now? It's the way of the life in a small market.

  • I don't think he brings any real value to the Titans at this point and it's not about Britt. He's a pretty good receiver, but he'd be nothing more than a #2 here and would just represent a road block to the development of third round steal Damian Williams and Kenny Britt.

T.J. hasn't been in the Titans system and it doesn't make sense to bring him in a week before the regular season begins with the obvious expectation that he would be starting (do they axe Gage?).

It might make sense if the Titans expected Gage to be out for the season, had deep playoff hopes and needed a veteran WR. But that's not really the case, we have a good amount of young talent to serve as depth if needed.

He'd be a good fit for a team like Minnesota who could use a veteran WR.

ESPN is reporting he just signed a one-year, $855,000 deal with the Ravens. The Seahawks will pay him $6.15 million this year.

They could have had him for less than a million. I think him and Britt would have looked good running down the field together. It would have been worth trying for a year.
