TITANS SIGN SAFETY WILSON

  • Got this off the Titans page at SI.com. They signed Wilson to a multi-yr deal. He is rated to be a top 10 safety in the league and has done very well for Buffalo for yrs.

Only drawback is that he's 32 and will have to be replaced about as quick as he's brought on board.

  • It's a two year deal worth about $4 million. You can say goodbye to Babineaux.

  • Now hopefully they can draft a replacement at some point during this draft. And quit all this (ok, so there really isn't that much talk, but there is some) Kenny Vaccaro with the 10th pick talk. The safety class is deep this yr, but there is no talent worth a top 1st rd draft pick.

  • I'd be tempted go for Matt Elam or Eric Reed if one of them is there in round two.

TitanInsider: Any closer and you'd be in the huddle.

  • I don't know. Surely I would be happy with Elam or Reed, but signing Wilson affords you the ability to draft a guy in later rds that has a high "potential" ceiling that you could groom over the next yr or 2.

There are literally 15 safeties in this class that are rated as 2-4 rd talents. Bacarri Rambo is a 1st rd talent, but has dropped on some boards due to off-field issues. We have some compensatory picks.......I think at least 1 in the 3rd rd. I think rds 3 or 4 would be a good chance to take a safety. Save draft picks #10, #40, and one in the third rounders for DE, G/C, and BPA.
