While it's safe to say the third-year wide out is going to make this team, it's also safe to say Lavelle Hawkins still has room for improvement.
While he only had one touch for 22 yards (on a reverse play), he certainly made it count. Leap frogging over the defender trying to make his way in for six but falling four yards short. He said, "It hurts not to get in the end zone; that's why I dove from the 6 or 7 yard line."
When asked if he had ever made a play like that before, he smiled and said, "Oh yeah, I did it in high school and college."
He went on say that while instincts played a part in it, he also had time to see the defender starting to lower his head.
