Tipsheet: Will Chuck Cecil return in 2011?

Embattled Titans assistant does not yet have a contract for 2011, but could he be back for another season?

TitanInsider: Any closer and you'd be in the huddle.

  • This tipsheet thing is excellent. This is the kind of content I've been waiting for. That's what I'm talking about! But yeah, have mixed feelings about Cecil returning. I think it is probably in the best interest of the team if in fact, he gets his contract renewed. With the uncertainty of the CBA, it would undoubtedly hurt the team to have to learn a new system over what could be potentially a very short offseason.

  • Terry, not sure if this is the place, but Jim Wyatt insists that Dinger wants to be back as OC and that Fisher wants him back, despite his health problems. I definitely hope the he can overcome his struggle with cancer and can return in full force as our offensive coordinator. But I'm just not sure his health is going to allow such an expansive role, and I can't help but wonder if his illness affected/will affect his job performance. Anyway, have you all heard anything about Heimerdinger's return/departure?

  • I know Mike will get every opportunity to return, if he is healthy enough to do so. From what I've been told, the prognosis is actually decent for now. So keep Dinger in your prayers. If he is healthy enough to coach, Mike Heimerdinger will be with the Titans in '11.

I hope Dinger can come back and now we can at least open up the offense and not have to keep it simple for someone who isn't here anymore. I'm not as happy about Cecil coming back. He appears to be over matched and there are a couple of assistants that can be replaced. Any rumors about any coaches leaving?

Stay tuned! We may have something on fairly soon.
