I really like hightower as a mlb, sam lb., situational de. He only makes since for titans if they use more of a three man front and pair him with ayers or they think moving McCarthy to the will is a good move. Personally I'd love to see him as a sam on third down and ayers with hi hand in the ground.
Yeah he is very versatile. He can play all of the linebacker spots and can play defensive end for pass rushing. That would be three good young starting linebackers with McCarthy, Ayers, and Hightower.
