Titans post-practice injury report

  • Linebacker David Thornton and defensive back Cortland Finnegan did some work on the side, with Finnegan running, despite having both thighs wrapped.
Thornton, still on the PUP list, pushed the wooden blocking sled for a few minutes during the early part of practice.
Defensive end Jacob Ford remains out with a hamstring injury, but worked on the side. Tony Brown and William Hayes both worked on the side as well.
Kareem Brown suffered a shoulder injury in the Cardinals game and had his left shoulder in a sling. Coach Jeff Fisher said the team would have to evaluate the defensive tackle.
Offensive tackle Mike Otto was a no-go with a sprained knee as well. Kicker Ricky Schmitt did not practice either.

TitanInsider: Any closer and you'd be in the huddle.

  • How do you think the Thornton deal plays out ultimately?

There's the option of just leaving him on the PUP list until he is ready. His $4.35 million makes it tricky. He has to be healthy to cut him, or they would have to injury settle. But if he starts on PUP, then he he's gone for at least six weeks of the season, and they need him for the first four weeks with McRath suspended.

  • IMO if we can find a decent LB off the waiver wire, DT is gone. Way too much risk for that much $. His chance of sticking is if we have more injuries in the lb group.
