The Titans released five players on Tuesday, including cornerback Pete Ittersagen, receiver Bobby Sewall, punter Ricky Schmitt and waiving injured defensive tackle Kareem Brown and linebacker Mike Rivera.
The biggest surprise among the releases is Rivera, who tweaked a hamstring in Monday's practice. The Titans had apparently scheduled an MRI for Tuesday morning for Rivera, who was the only one of the five cuts not to take part in Tuesday's practice.
Agent James Selmer said he had not heard from the Titans regarding Rivera's release.
"He was having a great camp. He tweaked his hamstring at the end of practice, and that's the last I had heard from him," Selmer said. "I have not heard from the Titans about it."

I agree with Rivera being a surprised cut. I thought he played pretty good in the Carolina game. Does anyone think Kegler or Winborn will make the 53 man roster?
They both have a shot because they're thin and McRath is out for four games. Thornton is up in the air too. I hear they are high on this kid Patrick Trahan.
