Titans sign DT Gordon, put Morgan on IR

Gordon signing helps offset loss of DT Marks to knee sprain

  • I know it's not really on the radar, but does Joel Gamble bring something to the table that Jack Corcoran doesn't? I mean, seems like a meaningless transaction on the surface.

  • Terry, what's the latest on Jacob Ford? Also, what are the odds of Gordon being active on Sunday?

It's strictly for practice purposes. Corcoran can only play fullback on the scout team, whereas I am assuming by his double designation that Gamble can play both fullback and tight end. At practice the last couple of weeks, they have had LB Patrick Trahan do scout team work as a tight end just to have a body out there. He actually made a couple of nice catches for what it's worth.

They must feel like Ford is close or else they would have added a DE as well on Tuesday so he could get a full week of work in preparation. Gordon knows the system, but he's about 50/50 to be active on Sunday. If Ford is healthy, they can get by with only seven active DL on Sunday with Dave Ball swinging inside if need be and Jason Jones sliding outside in an emergency situation.

Good to hear about Ford and Gordon. Are you surprised by Ball's fast start in 2010?
