The Tennessee Titans will unveil a “12th man” to honor their fans when the season opens on Sept. 12 against the Oakland Raiders.
A flag pole will be added to the south end zone plaza and a 12th titan flag will be raised just prior to kickoff by a designated honoree at each home game. That person will have ties to Tennessee and may be a celebrity, civic leader, community hero, fan or former Titans player.
The action is similar to the way the Seattle Seahawks have a 12th man ceremony prior to each of their home games. When the Titans played there last season, baseball star Ken Griffey, Jr., raised the 12th man flag.
