Update on Vet QBs

  • Donovan McNabb - Shanahan says he won't be traded/released until after the draft.

Matt Hasselbeck - Seahawks lowballed him, and he will test the market.

Alex Smith - Harbaugh wants to re-sign him, GM doesn't. Smith says he wants to test market, feels he needs a change of scenery.

Seneca Wallace - re-signed by Cleveland to a 3 year extension

Matt Leinart - given 1st round tender by houston, but RFA tender won't be binding under new CBA rules

Marc Bulger - Seems destined for Arizona. He wants to be there, they want him there, Fitzgerald says he would like to play with Bulger.

Carson Palmer - Demanding a trade, says he will retire of he doesn't get traded. Bengals standing firm, saying that he won't be traded.

Kerry Collins - Always an option, but reading between the lines in everything Munchak has said, they seem to be looking outside the organization for a veteran option.

Kyle Orton - Named the starter in Denver, likely won't be traded

Kevin Kolb - Eagles don't particularly want to trade him, asking price for him is a 1st rounder.

    Other possibilities:

Tavaris Jackson, Bruce Gradkowski, Chad Pennington, Josh McCown, Matt Moore

At this point, I personally think it will boil down to Hasselbeck (FO and coaching connections), or Alex Smith who the Titans have been interested in.

  • I think Hasselback, Smith and perhaps Jackson or McNabb are the potential targets, and we have speculated about all of them.

TitanInsider: Any closer and you'd be in the huddle.

  • Homer in me wonders if Chad Henne is an option?
