  • The only thing I can tell you, from people I've had discussions with, is that Washington seems to want 2 draft picks. The highest pick could be a 3rd with a 5th or 6th thrown into the mix. I don't believe anyone will do that. Terry and I think, on good authority, that the Titans were willing to part with a 4th round pick but not anymore. Fisher and Shanahan used to be really close but I don't think they are as tight as they used to be. The Titans are serious but the Skins price tag must come down.

  • If that's the case, then I think Reinfeldt is wise to hold off and let the Redskins organization decide if they want to come down on the cost. This is (at least) their second time putting him on the block. The situation with Haynesworth and Shanahan continues to deteriorate and it's doubtful that Haynesworth's stock is going to get higher anytime soon.

  • I would agree and I think everyone in the league knows it. Washington needs to either shut up about this soap opera and make coach and player coexist or move on without Albert. They're going to take a bath either way. I don't care what McNabb said today, I don't see this getting fixed. As they say, the horse is out of the barn on this one.

  • So what are the real economics of this deal? If the Redskins have already paid approx $20 million of guarantee money and the Titans pick up Haynesworth, how much do the Titans owe Albert going forward? What years will it effect the salary cap?

FYI, Shanahan came out and said Albert won't be dealt this week. But, who knows what that means after this week. As for how it affects the Titans (if there was a cap this year), it is very manageable. The Skins have already absorbed the hit. It's three years, $16 million for 2010, 2011 and 2012 with $9 million in guarantees.
