It's been up and down all year. Seems like one week a good football team shows up, and the next it looks like half the roster doesn't belong in the NFL. This week we looked like a very good football team. That my friends was Titans football from the past. A very solid run game, a very good defensive effort that forced turnovers and got after the qb a little bit, and qb play that made enough plays to extend drives and really grind the Dolphin defense (that by the way has been very good) down all day.
I wrote this team off after last weeks effort against CHI. We were on the opposite side of a similar type blowout today. Miami didn't meltdown as bad as we did last week, but in similar fashion. The second half they looked defeated and just wanted to curl up and take it.
Games like that are fun to watch when all three phases are playing well. Tackling was solid. Guys were making plays all over the field. From Zach Brown to Coty Sensabaugh on defense to Damian Williams and Darius Reynaud on offense. Solid effort and I'm happy for the guys to recover from the debacle of the CHI game to rebound like this. Lets hope the light switched on for the rest of the season.
A lot of winnable games on the schedule remain and we may salvage this season and have something going looking forward.
Quite often wild swings in play comes from younger players or poor coaching.......hmmm, we definitely have younger players all over the defense, but does the question then becomes is what we are seeing due "just" to the youth? How much is due to coaching?
Where has that team been?
