I think they are doing an overhaul in the secondary, though I think they would take Finnegan back at the right price.
I also think they probably should re-up Dave Ball for another season. He's a fairly productive role player.
Ditto for Lavelle Hawkins, who showed much more than expected once he was given a chance.
TitanInsider: Any closer and you'd be in the huddle.
Finnegan for sure. He's one of the better players we have.
Dave Ball is productive.
If they move Jason Jones back to tackle, they could keep him, but at end, he's horrible.
I like Ahmard Hall, but I can't really justify keeping him, he wasn't much a difference maker last year.
Babineaux makes a good backup, they can keep him.
Velasco has done well in backup duty so they would be smart to keep him.
The rest can go. Griffin is too inconsistent. Lavelle was had WAY too many chances. It's time to move on.
I think it's best if the Titans keep Cortland Finnegan although if he wants more than $8.5-9M I think you need to let him go. I'd rather that Reinfeldt/Webster start building blocks on blocks instead of having to re-visit previous areas of strength. (I.E. Cornerback). Obviously the Titans need to bring back Babineaux as he was a competent starter and is a solid transition player in a weak safety FA/Draft period.
Ball would be good on another 1 year deal but I'd let Hayes and Jones (can't stay healthy) go and would consider cutting Shaun Smith.
