Amano, Williams injuries not serious

Center Eugene Amano's neck stinger does not appear to be too serious, according to head coach Jeff Fisher.

The Titans will have an extra day for injuries to heal, thanks to their Monday night game in Jacksonville next week.

Amano left the game in the fourth quarter and Fernando Velasco, who was already subbing for injured Leroy Harris (ankle), moved over the center, and Ryan Durand, who saw his first regular-season game action on the offensive line, played left guard.

As for other injuries in the game, rookie receiver Damian Williams did not return after being drilled in the back as he dropped a pass. Fisher indicated that Williams could have come back into the game if needed.

He also praised Williams, who operated as the third receiver with Justin Gage out with a hamstring injury and Kenny Britt starting.

“He’s got a really good sense of all three positions,” Fisher said. “He gets open, he’s natural at it and he played well.  We’re going to try and keep him on the field, we can count on Marc (Mariani) in the return area, we can count on Damian to play the position.”
