Steve Hutchinson has arrived in Nashville to meet with Coach Mike Munchak, according to Fox 17.
Hutchinson is the first of several free agents the Titans appear to be interested in to visit the club, as he would address a need at guard. Jake Scott is a free agent and has not been a priority to re-sign as the Titans are looking to shuffle the offensive line to rejuvenate a rushing attack that finished 31st last season.
Hutchinson, 34, was released by the Minnesota Vikings, but has familiarity with Titans general manager Ruston Webster from both being in Seattle. COO Mike Reinfeldt and director of player personnel Lake Dawson also have ties to the Seahawks from Hutchinson’s days there.
Hutchinson left Seattle after signing the infamous $49 million “poison pill” contract with the Vikings that the Seahawks could not match.
He has been a perennial Pro Bowl selection and also is represented by the same firm, CAA, the represents Peyton Manning and Mario Williams, whom the Titans also have interest in pursuing in free agency.
