Titans add two LBs; Blount, Keglar waived

The Titans continue to tinker with their roster a day after final cuts, grabbing a pair of linebackers off the waiver wire Sunday and letting go of linebacker Stanford Keglar and running back LeGarrette Blount.

Tennessee claimed linebacker Tim Shaw off waivers from the Chicago Bears and also grabbing Patrick Bailey, who was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Shaw was originally drafted by the Carolina Panthers in 2007 and has also spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars. In order to add Shaw and Bailey to the roster, corresponding moves to remove two players who had made the 53-man roster on Saturday will have to be made. It is likely that one or more backup linebackers could be let go.

The Titans also began constructing their practice squad. Among the players added back to the practice squad who had been in camp were receiver Dominique Edison, safety Myron Rolle, cornerback Pete Ittersagen, linebacker Patrick Trahan and center Kevin Matthews.
The Titans also have signed defensive end Hall Davis of Louisiana Lafayette to their practice squad.

There are two practice squad spots left open and one of those will likely go to Blount if he clears waivers. He had a strong preseason and beat out Samkon Gado for the third running back spot.

Keglar is a former fourth-round pick, who never progressed beyond a special teams role in Tennessee. He was never in contention for the temporary starting spot created by Gerald McRath's four-game suspension.
