Titans reach deal with Zach Brown

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with second round pick Zach Brown on a four-year contract.

Brown, who had 5.5 sacks this past season at the University of North Carolina.

The deal is worth around $3.86 million, according to a league source and contains a signing bonus of about $1.25 million. Base salaries for the first two years of the deal in 2012 ($390,000) and 2013 ($566,000) are fully guaranteed in the contract.

Brown had 105 tackles for the Tar Heels this past season, which led the team.

"He is a unique type of player with his speed," agent Brian Overstreet said. "I think they are looking for him to come in and push Will Witherspoon a little bit."

With Brown’s signing, the Titans have now agreed to deals with four of their seven draft picks with first-rounder Kendall Wright, fifth-rounder Taylor Thompson and seventh-rounder Scott Solomon the remaining unsigned picks.

Those deals could be completed this week, according to a league source.
