Gerrid Doaks HOU RB
Gerrid Doaks: Cut by Houston
4h agoThe Texans waived Doaks on Friday.
Doaks spent most of the past two seasons with Houston's practice squad and had signed a reserve/future contract with the club in January. However, he was cut Friday after the Texans reshaped their running back room in the offseason by trading for Joe Mixon, adding Jawhar Jordan in the draft and signing British Brooks as an undrafted free agent. Doaks has yet to play a snap in the NFL.

Je'Quan Burton 2005 WR
Dolphins' Je'Quan Burton: Headed to Miami
4h agoThe Dolphins signed Burton on Friday.
As a senior at Florida Atlantic, Burton hauled in 24 passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns. Miami's wide receiver depth chart will be tough to crack for any undrafted rookie ahead of 2024.
-
Jalen Camp CAR WR
Jalen Camp: Gets waived by Carolina
5h agoThe Panthers waived Camp on Friday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Camp did not see the field in 2023, and after Carolina added talent at wide receiver in the draft, it opted to cut him. He'll now have to search for another chance with a different franchise.
-
Chris Pierce Jr. CAR TE
Chris Pierce: Done with Panthers
5h agoCarolina waived Pierce on Friday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Pierce agreed to a reserve/future contract with the Panthers back in January, but they decided to let him go after adding talent at tight end in the draft. He'll now look for another chance with a new team.
-
Spencer Brown CAR RB
Spencer Brown: Leaving Carolina
5h agoThe Panthers waived Brown (undisclosed) with an injury designation Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Brown didn't see the field in 2023, and after Carolina added talent at running back in the draft, it has now decided to cut him loose. He'll revert to injured reserve assuming he clears waivers.
-
Deon Jackson NYG RB
Giants' Deon Jackson: Done with Giants
5h agoThe Giants waived Jackson (undisclosed) with an injury designation Friday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.
Jackson suited up for both Cleveland and Indianapolis in 2023, but he demonstrated a tendency to fumble the ball away and thus spent most of last season on the bench. If he clears waivers, he'll reverted to injured reserve.
-
Framber Valdez HOU SP
Astros' Framber Valdez: Sharp in second win
23m agoValdez (2-1) earned the win Friday over the Tigers, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out four.
Valdez allowed two runs on a Matt Vierling double in the third inning before blanking Detroit over his final four frames en route to his second victory of the year. It's an encouraging bounce-back effort from Valdez, who allowed five runs in a loss to Seattle in his previous start. The left-hander lowered his ERA to 3.64 with a 1.35 WHIP and 23:9 K:BB across five starts (29.2 innings). Valdez is currently scheduled for a home matchup with the A's in his next outing.

Logan O'Hoppe LAA C
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Idle Friday
1h agoO'Hoppe isn't in the Angels' lineup Friday versus the Royals.
O'Hoppe will get a breather Friday after tallying six hits across his last three games. While he rests, Matt Thaiss will fill in as Los Angeles' backstop and bat sixth.
-
Niko Goodrum LAA 3B
Angels' Niko Goodrum: Reports to big-league club
2h agoThe Angels activated Goodrum on Friday.
Goodrum had been with the Rays' Triple-A affiliate when he was DFA'd and later claimed by the Angels, but he will return to the majors as replacement depth for Ehire Adrianza, (back) who landed on the injured list Friday. Goodrum has experience at every position other than catcher, though he will likely return to the minors once Los Angeles' heavily-depleted infield unit begins returning from the IL.
-
Ehire Adrianza LAA 3B
Angels' Ehire Adrianza: Lands on injured list
2h agoThe Angels placed Adrianza on the 10-day injured list Friday with back spasms, retroactive to Thursday.
Adrianza reported having problems with his lower back Friday, and the issue is apparently severe enough to warrant a trip to the injured list. Niko Goodrum will join the active roster to take Adrianza's spot after being claimed off waivers from Tampa Bay on Thursday.
-
Hunter Renfroe KC RF
Royals' Hunter Renfroe: Day off Friday
3h agoRenfroe isn't in the Royals' lineup for Friday's game against the Angels.
Renfroe will get a chance to regroup Friday after going 0-for-10 across his last three games. Dairon Blanco will cover right field instead and bat eighth.
-
Daniel Lynch KC RP
Royals' Daniel Lynch: Optioned to Triple-A
3h agoLynch was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Friday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Lynch will return to Omaha after tossing five scoreless innings in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Rangers and two perfect innings in Thursday's 10-4 win against the Angels. With Alec Marsh (elbow) being activated Friday, Lynch was the odd man out in Kansas City and he'll now have to wait for his next chance to join the major-league roster. The left-hander has struggled to a 5.86 ERA over 27.2 innings in six starts at Triple-A this season and he'll look to find a groove ahead of his next call up down the road.
-
Kyle Anderson MIN SF
Timberwolves' Kyle Anderson: Back to bench
2h agoAnderson will return to a reserve role in Friday's Game 3 against the Nuggets.
No surprise here, as Rudy Gobert (personal) is back with the team. As a result, Anderson should take on his usual role providing depth at forward.
-
Reggie Jackson DEN PG
Nuggets' Reggie Jackson: Good to go
2h agoJackson (ankle) is available for Friday's Game 3 against the Timberwolves.
Jackson will be available to provide depth at point guard. Starter Jamal Murray (calf), who was also questionable, is going to play through it. Thus, Jackson figures to take on his usual depth role.
-
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope DEN SG
Nuggets' Kentavious Caldwell-Pope: Good to go Friday
2h agoCaldwell-Pope (abdomen) is good to go for Friday's Game 3 against Minnesota.
Caldwell-Pope walked away from Game 2 with a mild abdomen injury, but he'll power through it in Game 3 with no word of any restrictions. Jamal Murray (calf) and Reggie Jackson (calf) will also play through their questionable tags.
-
Jamal Murray DEN PG
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Available for Game 3
2h agoMurray (calf) is available for Friday's Game 3 against Minnesota.
Murray has been a regular on the injury report since the end of Denver's first-round series against the Lakers, but he continues to push through it. Through the first two games against Minnesota, Murray has really struggled, hitting a combined 9-of-32 from the field.
-

Jalen Brunson NY PG
Knicks' Jalen Brunson: Good to go for Game 3
4h agoBrunson (foot) is available and in the starting lineup for Friday's Game 3 against the Pacers, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.
As expected, Brunson has been upgraded from questionable to available Friday despite dealing with right foot soreness. With OG Anunoby (hamstring) out, Brunson will likely need to continue his scoring dominance in order for the Knicks to take a 3-0 lead in the series.
-
Sergei Bobrovsky FLA G
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Light workload in win
1m agoBobrovsky turned aside 14 of 16 shots on goal in Friday's 6-2 victory over the Bruins.
It was a relatively quiet night in net for Bobrovsky, as the Bruins only had eight shots on net early in the third period. Florida also had a 3-0 lead after the second period, so Boston was pressing hard in the third. Bobrovsky made a number of key saves to keep the lead at two before the Panthers added a couple of insurance goals. Game 4 of this series is Sunday in Boston, where Bobrovsky will presumably be between the pipes again.
-
Stuart Skinner EDM G
Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Tending twine Friday
1h agoSkinner will get the starting nod for Game 2 in Vancouver, Oilers play-by-by announcer Jack Michaels reports.
Skinner has been shaky this postseason and was rocked for five goals on just 24 shots in the Game 1 loss Wednesday. Through six playoff games, he's registered an .893 save percentage and a 3.01 GAA. On the bright side, Skinner hasn't taken consecutive losses since Feb. 21 and 24.
-
Adam Henrique EDM C
Oilers' Adam Henrique: Back in action
1h agoHenrique (lower body) is in Friday's lineup for Game 2 against Vancouver, Oilers play-by-by announcer Jack Michaels reports.
Henrique will return to the lineup after missing Game 1 with a lower-body issue. He tallied two points in Game 1 against the Kings last round but hasn't scored a point in four games since. Henrique is expected to skate in a top-six role Friday.
-
Leon Draisaitl EDM C
Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Expected to play Friday
1h agoDraisaitl (undisclosed) is warming up and is expected to suit up against the Canucks on Friday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Draisaitl missed a morning skate after dealing with cramping issues during Wednesday's Game 1 loss. Fortunately for Edmonton, he shouldn't miss any additional time. The star forward has five goals and 12 points through six games this postseason. Draisaitl tallied two assists in Game 1 against Vancouver.
-
Brad Marchand BOS LW
Bruins' Brad Marchand: Exits Friday's contest
1h agoMarchand (upper body) was injured Friday against Florida and is not expected to return.
Marchand racked up five hits through 10:51 of ice time prior to suffering the injury but he failed to record a shot or a point. The veteran winger tallied an assist in each of the first two games this series but is currently stuck in a six-game goalless drought, assuming he doesn't return Friday. An update on his status should be available before Game 4 on Sunday.
-
Sam Bennett FLA C
Panthers' Sam Bennett: Good to go Friday
4h agoBennett (upper body) will be in Friday's Game 3 lineup against the Bruins, Katie Engleson of Bally Sports Florida reports.
Bennett was injured during Game 2 against the Lightning last round and had missed five straight games. He'll slide back into a top-six role alongside Carter Verhaeghe and Matthew Tkachuk on Friday. After scoring 20 goals and 41 points in the regular season, Bennett has two points through two playoff appearances.
